Wax Museum Project Directions
Wax Museum Book Project
Biography or Autobiography
Due
Date: April 26th
Your task:
1. Present an oral book report in first person (using words such as “I” or “we”) from a biography or autobiography in our FourthGrade Wax Museum.
2. Wear an appropriate costume to represent the person for your report. You want to become your person. You DO NOT need to buy your costume! Be creative and look for your clothes and props from your home.
3. Create a website that tells or shows about your character and main events in his or her life to show while you give at least a one minute presentation as your person at our Fourth Grade Wax Museum.
Ideas:
Grab your audience’s attention with a great beginning, as a question, quote, or interesting fact.
Describe“yourself” and events in your life.
You may write your script on a note card to help you during your presentation.
Your script should include:
* Your name
*Time in history you lived
* Why or how did you become famous?
* Where are you now, and what are you doing?
* Interesting details about yourself –education, family, life experiences
* What influences did or does your character have on others?
Pay attention to both physical characteristics and personal characteristics. This will help you decide what to wear and how to act during your presentation. For example, if you were Benjamin Franklin you might wear glasses and carry a kite.
Make your website creative, colorful, and informative to your
audience.
Fourth Grade Wax Museum Day
You will “come alive”!
You will present your project, which will include your website, costume, and props, to your class earlier in the day. Other Riverview students will view your projects, and we will be presenting our wax museum for parents to tour in the cafeteria. When students push the “button”,
your statue will come alive for your presentation. Just like pushing the button for information at a real museum!
