Childhood
My dad had a saloon ever since I was little. I was not the only child in my family I had a little sister.I had problems at home so I had to go to St.Marys, and thats were I started playing baseball.
At St.Marys
There was a couple of baseball teams there. At St.Marys there was a guy named Brother Mathews and he helped me a lot with baseball.I was so gifted when I was 9 I was playing with the 12 year old kids, also when I was 12 I was playing with the 16 year olds.
St.Marys To The Minors
I was about 19 when I was all over the Baltimore newspaper and a minor league team called the Baltimore Orioles wanted me to be in there organization. Next thing I know I was the best pitcher in the minors. I was getting payed 200$-300$.
Orioles to Pros
Me and 3 other teammates were getting payed a lot for our time and the Orioles were running out of money. So they didn't know how to solve it. Sot they traded me to the Boston Red Sox.
Red Sox to the Yankees
I was doing good at the Red Sox. We also won 2 World Series in a row. I do not know why but they traded me to the Yankees for a lot of money. So off I went.
Yankees Success
I was a pitcher but when I wasn't pitching I played I the outfield so that I was making 100,000, that also increased my popularity. I made a lot of money off of endorsements. We were won of the best teams ever. We had me,Lou Gehring. We won 7 AL championships and 4 World Series. In my lifetime I hit 714 homeruns, my batting average in 22 seasons was .342. I ended my career in 1935 and I died in New York City in August 16,1948.
